| Mission Statement |
Wawecus Road School creates an environment that encourages
all students to maximize their growth intellectually, emotionally,
creatively, physically and socially. Strengths are identified,
nurtured and supported in an active learning environment, with
extensive resources and technology. Teachers use authentic
assessment and student portfolios to develop individualized
instruction, matched to each student's learning style.
Classrooms are guided learning centers where individual students
and cooperative groups apply academic skills and critical and
creative thinking to real world problems. The community serves
as a laboratory for learning and as a resource for students and
teachers.
The administration and faculty are committed to creating a community
of lifelong learners within a learning environment that reflects
the most current educational thinking and practices.
Wawecus Road School is fully networked, thereby allowing students
and staff to access information resources from around the world.
We are developing the technical skills necessary to function
effectively in the 21 st. century!
