Burncoat Music Magnet Programs

All students attending Burncoat Middle School and Burncoat High School who elect to be music magnet students receive 8 to 10 periods of music instruction weekly. As part of this unique program, each student receives a private lesson on his or her major instrument at no charge to the student.

The After-School Instrumental Program

All students attending the Worcester Public Schools, grades 4-12, are eligible to participate in the after-school instrumental program, held in various locations throughout the city. Lessons are one-half hour, small group instruction, and are held weekdays between 3:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Click Here for the flyer.

All-City Performing Groups
  1. All-City Chorus, Grades 4-12
    Suzanne Miville and Lisa Cohane, Directors
    Wednesdays, Goddard School
    3:30-5:00PM

  2. All-City String Orchestra, Grades 4-8
    Requires one year minimum of instrumental study
    Alexander Badalov, Director
    Mondays, Worcester Arts Magnet School 3:30-5:00 p.m.

  3. All-City Wind Ensemble, Grades 4-8
    Requires one year minimum of instrumental study
    Johnetta Smith, Director
    Thursdays, Worcester Arts Magnet School
    3:30-5:00 p.m.
