Heard Street School's mission is to provide a nurturing
and stimulating environment where children are encouraged
to achieve their highest potential. We seek to create a
challenging academic climate in which children, parents,
and teachers strive for excellence in their collaborative,
diverse community.

Heard Street School will prepare children to become analytical
and critical thinkers by encouraging parents, community and school
personnel to share in the responsibility of developing children
as life-long learners.
In the pursuit of excellence, every child will be afforded maximum
opportunity to develop to his or her fullest potential intellectually,
emotionally, physically, and socially.
Every child will become an integral part of an interactive curriculum
where the responsibility for developing critical and analytical
thinkers is shared by parents, community, and school personnel.
Through a high level of commitment of school staff, parents, business
partners, and community, the school will enjoy the infusion of
state-of-the-art technology that will further challenge the ever
expanding minds of our students.
Teachers will pursue on-going staff development opportunities which
will assure educational strategies commensurate with the school’s
expanding curriculum needs and increasingly diverse population.
Enrichment of the learning experiences of the children will occur
through the school’s involvement in community outreach activities.
