| Mission Statement |
The mission of Doherty Memorial High School is to educate our students to
become capable and contributing citizens. To accomplish this goal, we teach
a challenging curriculum designed to promote high standards of academic
achievement and of character development. Through the humanities and the
arts curricula, students are encouraged to develop thinking and communication
skills as well as to explore modes of creative expression. Through the science,
math and technology curricula, students acquire and develop problem-solving
skills essential in our rapidly changing global economy.
The administration and faculty are firmly committed to implementation of
the Worcester Public Schools Curriculum, the Frameworks of the Massachusetts
State Curricula and the development of analytical, critically thoughtful
adults. Students are continuously exposed to a multicultural perspective,
which enhances understanding of the history, traditions and values of
diverse cultures. We promote a safe, caring, learning environment at
Doherty that enables students to become capable, productive members of
their community.
