| Learn to play this remarkable game. Mah Jong appears initially to be a very complicated game, but once you learn it, is really simple. Four players are required to play this game, and “mah jong” bears some similarity to the game of Rummy. It is only the accompanying rituals and complex scoring that change this. In China, Japan and Taiwan, mah jong is a game of chance. For the aficionado, the game requires skill, intelligence, calculation and luck. (minimum of 8 students) |

| Because of recent tax breaks that the state of Massachusetts now offers film companies, scores of projects are being planned for Massachusetts in 2008-2009. This class will teach you the vast difference between stage and screen acting as well as how to audition for film. The instructor has been a NYC casting director since 1981, and now living in New England, will teach you the subtleties of film acting. You will be "cast" in a role from a script currently in development and each week, will portray that character in scenes with your fellow actors. The script is contemporary and intriguing, as are the characters. These are some comments from recent students of this class:
"I love the 'no bull' approach. If you're going to try and break into this biz you must be able to take constructive criticism. If you can't, "Don't quit your day job". I have, and will recommend this class to all who ask me about acting classes." Mike M.
"Susan has a sharp wit, mind, and eye. In her years in the industry, she's probably seen every mistake an actor can make, a hundred times over. Due to this, she can quickly cut right to the source and cause of an actor's weakness, and give you precise methods and solutions to overcome them. She is just as quick to point out when and how someone really nails a scene, so that everyone in the class can learn from those successes." Andrew J.
"I left each class with information overload, and spent my drive home trying to absorb each juicy bit. Susan will fine-tune the class to your skill level and the amount of time you can spend outside of class. Let her know in the first class how busy you are, and what you hope to achieve." Carolyn T. |
