Whether you're traveling to France, Quebec, Southeast Asia, French West Africa, or some Caribbean Islands, knowing how to speak the French language is a definite asset. This conversational course will help to break down the language barrier and create a friendly attitude as you travel. The thematic approach to a foreign language enables the participant to speak the language quickly. Grammar is used in defining the spoken language, which facilitates complete comprehension. Slides and videos bring the country into the classroom and permit the student to appreciate the importance of second language acquisition. This course is designed for people who would like to learn basic conversational Vietnamese for the purposes of tourism and business, or out of personal interests. In this course, learners will study basic conversational Vietnamese used in a broad range of common situations. Basic grammar structures will be systematically presented to learners via everyday dialogues. The textbook cost is not included in the course fee. Book: "Colloquial Vietnamese" by Tuan Duc Vuong and John Moore. ISBN: 978-0-415-09205-0. Students should purchase this book online or at a bookstore, estimated cost $30.00

This is a basic Spanish course designed for individuals without previous knowledge of the Spanish language. Individuals will be able to engage in basic communication using the Spanish language. Using simple words, phrases and expressions, students will be able to greet and respond to greetings, introduce and respond to introductions, ask and answers questions, make and respond to requests, exchange information and knowledge about people, activities or events, express likes and dislikes, express agreement and disagreement, follow directions, express needs and emotions and so on, with great emphasis in oral expressions and without recourse to English. Pronunciation will be practiced following the letters of the alphabet. Students will be involved in activities that expose the Hispanic culture, as Latino movies, music, food, dance, customs, socialization with Hispanic people, etc.
